GALVANISM - low-frequency currents consisting of electrical pulses with different routes and frequencies (from 0,5 to 500 Hz) used to stimulate nerves and muscles. Types of electrical stimulation: Trabert's pulse current makes the muscles tremble, which relaxes them and soothes pain. These currents are beneficial in spondyloarthritis, spinal pain syndrome and in increased muscle tension. Diadynamic currents are especially effective in treating pain syndromes in degenerative spinal conditions, slipped disks, as well as sciatica and brachialgia. They have b painkilling and hyperaemic effects. Interferential currents are medium frequency currents created by interference (overlapping) of two alternating currents in human tissues. Interferential currents are analgesic, increase muscle contractibility and improve blood supply in blood vesslels. They are recommended after acute condition has subsided. They are beneficial in neck and shoulder pain complexes, intercostal pains, spinal degenerations
